Mergers & Acquisitions 

  • TSG Consumer Partners acquired a majority stake in Summer Fridays, a clean, California-inspired beauty brand that launched in 2018. Founders Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Ireland will retain a significant equity stake and continue to lead Summer Fridays. Prelude Growth Partners exited their investment as part of the transaction. TSG is also an investor in Hempz, Huda Beauty, and Perricone MD. WWD

  • German confectionery firm Katjes Group increased its stake in MyMuesli from 10.1% to 56%. MyMuesli is a Bavaria-based purveyor of organic muesli products. Katjes Group has been an active buyer lately. Last year, they acquired a majority stake in ethical chocolate brand Jokolade. Just Food

  • PAI Partners acquired a majority stake in Nutripure, a French sports nutrition brand that launched in 2017. Nutripure’s revenue has grown 4x since 2022. PE Hub Europe

Fundraising

  • Swedish fragrance brand Bibbi Parfum secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Fable Investments and JamJar Investments. Bibbi launched late last year and was co-founded by Stina Seger and Jan Vilhelm Ahlgren. Fable Investments is the corporate venture arm of Natura & Co, the former owner of Aesop. The Industry

  • Kooshy, a purveyor of better-for-you croutons, secured just over $2M in equity funding from undisclosed investors. The brand retails at H-E-B, Sprouts, Whole Foods Market, and other retailers. SEC

  • Pleasing, the beauty brand founded by Harry Styles, expanded into the suncare category with two new products: Solar Dew Mineral Serum SPF 50 and Big Lip HA Moisture Balm SPF 30. Pleasing has been on a heater since they appointed Shaun Kearney as CEO last year. The Industry

  • Sabrina Carpenter partnered with Scent Beauty to launch her third fragrance — Cherry Baby. The new scent will hit retailers like Walmart and Rite Aid in August. Business of Fashion

  • Fat Tire joined forces with Vans to release a co-branded can as well as a summer capsule collection. Very fun 👇 FoodBeast

  • Juice Generation, a New York-based juice shop chain, released a new product that combines fresh juice with gelato. The new range is called Juiced Gelato. FoodBev

  • Kraft Heinz partnered with IHOP to bring a line of syrups to retail. Brand Innovators

  • The co-founders of RXBAR — Jared Smith and Peter Rahal — are teaming up with Tom Melcher, the former COO of Feastables, to launch a better-for-you candy brand. Details are scarce but we’ll know more in the coming weeks. LinkedIn

  • Australian wine brand Gonzo Vino is launching a new pouched wine called Full Tilt. The packaging is pretty great IMO. Instagram

  • Dasani, the bottled water brand owned by Coca-Cola, partnered with Taxi Studio to refresh their packaging. It’s definitely an improvement. The Dieline

  • Deckers Brands, the company behind HOKA and UGG, posted strong Q1 results. Net sales jumped 22% to $825M while HOKA sales increased 29% to $545M. Business Wire
