  • Patriot Pickle, a New Jersey-based manufacturer of high-quality pickle products that’s owned by Swander Pace Capital, acquired First Place Foods, a Garland, TX producer of pickled vegetables. Business Wire

  • US-based Timex Group acquired Indian watch brand and retailer Just Watches for an undisclosed sum. Just Watches stores will become part of Timex India. The Economic Times

Fundraising

  • All Y’Alls Foods, a Texas-based producer of plant-based jerky made from non-GMO soybeans, secured its first investor for its $1m SAFE. The investor is Dr. Rizwan H. Bukhari who also joins the company as a Medical Adviser. Food Business News

  • BASBAS, a premium hierbas brand, is launching a $2m equity fundraise. Hierbas is a low-ABV Spanish liqueur produced from a variety of herbs. BASBAS was founded by Paul Geller. BevNET

Food, Beverage, and Alcohol

  • DEUX, the better-for-you snack brand that produces healthier versions of sweets like cookie dough and donuts, launched its latest product — Chocolate Glaze Donut Holes. DEUX’s branding is terrific. Twitter

  • Brooklyn Brewery collaborated with London-based Brewgooder on a beer made from fonio, a West African super grain. The fonio was sourced by the talented folks at Yolele Foods. Instagram 

  • Scottish single malt whisky producer Kilchoman has received permission to build a rum distillery in Barbados. Kilchoman acquired nine acres of land and the derelict Bentley Mansion in 2021. The mansion has incredible bones. The Spirits Business

  • Austin-based Richard’s Rainwater unveiled a colorful brand refresh. It’s not bad but I personally prefer the earlier iteration. Instagram

  • Italian luxury sneaker brand Golden Goose had yet another good quarter. In Q1 sales jumped 20% to €133.3m. Golden Goose has been on a roll lately. In 2022 they crossed €500m in revenue, a 30% YoY surge. Drapers
