How Consumer Testing is Helping Bring This Climate-Friendly Super Grain to Pantries Everywhere 🌍

Fonio may be new to you and me. But to millions of people across Africa’s Sahel region, this “ancient grain” has been a part of daily life for thousands of years.

Now, YolĂ©lĂ© is bringing this climate-friendly, nutrient-dense ingredient to pantries across America. But first, they needed to know: what do fonio’s future consumers want?

đŸ€” Would consumers be open to fonio cheese puffs?

đŸ« How would shoppers react to a chocolate bar made with fonio?

đŸ„› Are consumers skeptical or excited about fonio-based milk?

To get the answers they needed, Yolélé asked consumers using concept testing by the Highlight product intelligence platform.

Now Yolélé has the data they need to move forward with manufacturer conversations and new product development.

Wondering what your consumers think of your ideas? Identify winners before investing a cent in prototyping with concept testing by Highlight.

Food, Beverage, and Alcohol

  • We have our first look at Man Cereal, a new high-protein cereal that also features creatine. The hyper minimalist branding was designed by Day Job. Each serving of Man Cereal contains 15-16g of protein, 2.5g of creatine, and 5g of carbs. Right now we only know of one flavor — Maple Bacon — which is a curious choice for a cereal brand. Ben Rudman made a good point about the flavor on Twitter. Instagram

  • Flamingo Estate partnered with Pamela Anderson to drop a limited-edition product called Pamela’s Pickles. Each jar retails for $38 and the proceeds will be donated to the California Wildlife Center. The Spicy Rose Dill Pickles are made with Fresno chiles, rose petals, guajillo chile, and pink peppercorns. Instagram

Three flavors are currently available: Beet Ginger Blend, Carrot Turmeric Blend, and Cauliflower Lemon Blend. Intriguing concept. OKO
