David Ingalls, the founder of Zing Bars, has reacquired the plant-based protein bar brand from American Licorice Company. Ingalls enlisted Dunedain Ventures to finance the transaction. Moving forward Zing will prioritize profitable growth and double down on digital channels like Amazon and TikTok Shop. NOSH
Brynwood Partners agreed to sell Great Kitchens Food Company, one of the largest manufacturers of private label pizza in North America, to family-owned food company Rich Products Corporation. Great Kitchens operates three manufacturing facilities and employs 1,000 associates. PR Newswire
Crofter’s Organic, a Canadian manufacturer of jams and fruit spreads, has been acquired by PE firm Power Sustainable Lios. Two other investors, BMO Capital Partners and Farm Credit Canada, also co-invested in the biz. Crofter’s Organic is one of the fastest-growing brands in shelf-stable fruit spreads, jams, and jellies. Charcuterie Artisans, the Rhode Island-based owner of Creminelli, Daniele, and Del Duca, has acquired La Quercia Cured Meats for an undisclosed sum. La Quercia is based in Iowa and specializes in producing prosciutto. With the addition of La Quercia’s Iowa Plant, Charcuterie Artisans now operates 660,000-square-feet of production space. Fundraising
Once Upon a Farm kicked off its IPO roadshow and the company could raise north of $200M. The children’s nutrition specialist plans on offering 11 million shares priced between $17 and $19. A number of investors like CAVU Consumer Partners, Access Capital, S2G Investments, and Cambridge SPG stand to benefit from the listing. Reuters
