Mergers & Acquisitions 

  • Celebrity hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons acquired his eponymous haircare brand from Maesa, the beauty incubator that launched the brand in 2022. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed but the brand retails at Ulta, Boots, and Müller. WWD

  • Oklahoma-based Krebs Brewing Co. acquired a minority stake in Clubby Seltzers, a premium hard seltzer brand that’s based in Oklahoma City. The co-founders of Clubby will remain involved however KBC will be responsible for manufacturing and sales. Craft Brewing Business

  • Wicked Kitchen and its associated brands, Good Catch and Current Foods, have been acquired by Ahimsa Companies for an undisclosed sum. Wicked Kitchen, best known for its plant-based frozen meals, was founded in 2016 and retails at over 20,000 stores across the globe. PR Newswire

Fundraising

  • Matière Première, a French fragrance brand that launched in 2019, scored funding from Kering. The niche fragrance brand will use the funding to expand its retail footprint and add standalone stores in major cities across Europe, China, and the U.S. Beauty Packaging

  • Brooke Shields officially launched Commence, a clean haircare brand that’s specifically formulated for women over 40. Commence

  • Beach House Group, the beauty incubator behind Beis and Florence By Mills, introduced a unisex fragrance brand called NOYZ. The brand will debut at Ulta Beauty later this month. PR Newswire

  • Rihanna is entering the enormous haircare category with the launch of Fenty Hair later this month. Rihanna joins a slew of other celebrities like Beyonce, Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jennifer Aniston, and Priyanka Chopra in the celebrity haircare race. Hypebeast

Food, Beverage, and Alcohol

  • Organic sparkling water brand Nixie is launching a range of healthy sodas on June 12th. Details are scarce but it looks like they’re launching a cola, a root beer, and a lemon lime soda. A reliable source tells me that they taste great. Twitter

  • Organic baby & toddler food brand Little Spoon launched a new line of breakfast items. Little Spoon also collaborated with Oatly on an overnight oats smoothie that’s available in two flavors: Apple Cinnamon Swirl and Peach Berry Bliss. The smoothie packaging is fantastic. Food Navigator

  • Starbucks is releasing a protein coffee RTD in the UK. Quest Nutrition and OWYN are combining protein and coffee, so why shouldn’t Starbucks? It’s a good-looking product line. Twitter

  • Sofia Vergara launched a new coffee brand called Dios Mio Coffee. The coffee is sourced from Colombia and is available in whole bean, ground, and pod format. People

  • Iconic hot sauce brand Cholula is entering the frozen food aisle with a new line of burrito bowls. Four varieties are available. Food Dive

  • Jones Soda Co. is expanding into the $19.1B craft mixers category with Jones Premium Craft Mixers. The new line will launch at a national anchor retailer later this year. PR Newswire
