Mergers & Acquisitions

  • L Catterton has acquired a majority stake in Good Culture, valuing the clean cottage cheese brand at over $500M. Founded in 2015 by Jesse Merrill and Anders Eisner, Good Culture sales have jumped nearly 4x over the past three years as consumers rediscovered cottage cheese as a high-protein and clean-label food option. Today, Good Culture is a leader in the category with standout velocities. Manna Tree, which led a $64M Series C investment in Good Culture in 2022, will reinvest alongside L Catterton. Food Dive

  • German consumer goods giant Henkel AG is reportedly pursuing Olaplex, a prestige haircare brand whose market cap once topped $15B in 2022. Olaplex is in the midst of a turnaround and the company appointed Amanda Baldwin as CEO in December 2023. Olaplex exceeded Wall street expecations in Q3 2025 and the brand returned to growth in the salon channel, but perhaps its majority owner, Advent International, is getting impatient. Bloomberg

Fundraising

  • Honey Mama’s, an Oregon-based producer of refrigerated fudge bars, secured $4M in a funding round led by Bochi Investments. Honey Mama’s is a force in the natural channel but now the company is focused on winning in conventional grocery and club. Christy Goldsby launched Honey Mama’s at the Portland State Farmers Market in 2013. Bochi Investments, which is based in Lake Oswego, Oregon, is also an investor in Mid-Day Squares, Ancient Crunch, GNGR Labs, Ketone-IQ, and Purely Elizabeth. LinkedIn

  • Cream Co. Meats, an Oakland-based butchery and distributor of grass-fed, regenerative meat products, raised $8M in Series A funding. Soilworks Natural Capital led the round while Builders Vision, Desert Bloom, and the Schmidt Family Foundation followed on. The capital will enable Cream Co. to expand its processing capacity and its regenerative sourcing network. LinkedIn
