Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Ferrero Group is doubling down on protein by acquiring BOLD Snacks, a Brazilian purveyor of protein bars and powders. Founded in 2018 and based in Minas Gerais, BOLD quickly gained traction with its novel protein bars and eye-catching packaging. Ferrero is best known for its iconic candy portfolio but lately the company has been acquiring functional snack brands like Power Crunch, FULFIL Nurition, and Eat Natural. Brazil is clearly a strategic priority for Ferrero Group. In 2023, the company acquired Dori Alimentos, a leading candy manufacturer with 5 facilities across the country. PR Newswire

The division contributed $350M to General Mills’ 2025 net sales and is home to leading local brands like Yoki and Kitano. The transaction is expected to close by end of year. General Mills has been gobbling up pet care assets while divesting assets like its North American yogurt biz for $2.1B. Business Wire

Turn Email Into Your Most Profitable Channel šŸ“©

If your brand is relying on paid media while your email program is built on vibes…you’re leaking profit every month and here’s why:

  • 50% of consumers made a purchase directly from an email last year, more than from social ads

  • $36 to $68 back for every $1 spent on email, no other channel is close

  • Automated flows drove 37% of all email revenue in 2024

  • A 5% lift in retention can increase profits by 25–95%. That's a P&L number, not a marketing metric

Here's how our system at Cousins works:

šŸŽÆ Customer Lifecycle Systems: 6-8+ automated flows with 30-60 emails that turn one-time buyers into repeat customers while you sleep.

šŸ‘€ Engaging Campaigns (not just discounts): 3-4 weekly premium curated campaigns focused on product education, community, social proof, and current events all segmented for the highest LTV and impact.

šŸ“ˆ We’re Retention-Only Specialists: Our Head of Retention was an early growth hire at The Hustle and our founders have been in the trenches for over 10 years. We don't bolt retention onto media buying, retention is what we do.

Want a no-BS retention audit? If there’s upside, we’ll show you exactly where. If not, we’ll tell you that too. Cousins is offering 5 CPG Wire readers a free audit over the next week. Book your audit here.
